When You Get Asked To Do A Gig For “Exposure”?

All musicians find themselves in this situation at least once.

When someone calls you up and asks you to perform at an event, when talking about payment they say something like: “Surely the exposure alone would be more than enough.”

It’s important to get paid for your work, absolutely. At the same time there are occasions where playing for exposure might actually pay off.
